Time to catch up!

I got quite behind with my posts!!!!
I had several things come up and with lots of the hustle and bustle found it hard to try to catch up, but I am going to try!
Brief summary since our South Carolina Vacation:
-Reunion with Landon's closest buddy, Alex, at his parents house. Great fellowship and worship with some of those that my hubby and I hold dearest.
-The most wonderful Baby Bear Shower, hosted by dear friend Sara Schloss, here in West Lafayette at Squirrel Park. A wonderful and lovely time with my dearest friends who make my life more enjoyable and more bright. Thanks to close long time friend Sara, it was an amazing time and quite beautiful! Thanks to all who could come and thank you for giving us such great gifts for our little one!

-Following morning, Landon and I left early in the morning with my parents to Moline, IL, my childhood hometown where my husband in all almost eight years being together had NEVER been! Quite crazy. we headed up for my childhood Second Mom's Fiftieth Birthday! It was a surprise. :)
It was such a great great cherished time with my parents and family friends with my hubby. My papa even decided to give a grand tour throughout the city before we left so that hubby could see all it's wonderful home of John Deere goodness. :)
-When we returned, hubby started school that following day. He has been quite busy since, and I miss our spoofing around summer days. They will always always be remembered as a lovely last summer just the two of us...sigh. :*)
-That following Saturday hubby and I volunteered at the grand Blues and Jazz Festival located in downtown Lafayette. It was great! We got to experience the festival and get free t-shirts all for free and meet some lovely people!!!! (p.s. hubby got hit on by some workers when I wasn't around, hehe...such a stud)
-Amazing and brilliant hubby the following week was busy taking the GRE (which he did WONDERFUL at!!!! So proud!!!!!!!!!!! So much time and studying put in this summer all paid off!) As well as hosting a presentation for WHS (World Help Solutions, hubby's non-profit that he and his colleague Peter started a little over a year ago) in spreading awareness and getting students involved with the organization. It went extremely well, and got lots of great feedback!
Proud proud wifey...
-We of course celebrated the week's accomplishments on Friday by going to Maru Sushi for dinner and Red Mango for dessert, then rented Sherlock Holmes (which after such a busy week, he only made it about 20 min into, haha :) Lovely date night...
-That following Monday was Labor Day, and we spent it with long time great friend to Landon and I, Megan Jenkins, with her new bo cooking out and talking all day. And it was a beautiful beautiful day and well spent and enjoyed!!!! :) p.s. Made my first all homemade apple pie! From apples that hubby climbed a tree on campus to get. Not bad, but still have much to learn!
-The next week (and continued since then!) was lots and lots of cooking and baking!
Mostly soup, hubby's faaaaavorite! To give an idea, in the past two weeks I have used more than 25 chicken bouillon cubes! So that's not including the creamy soups or chili. Yeah, time to learn how to make my own broth...goal for the fall.
-That Friday, we found out that there was a free showing of Toy Story 3 in a campus theater. It was such a great find and fun experience for us! We both wanted to ball during the end of the movie, but built the strength to hold our exposure (not cooompletely haha) until we got in the car. A movie that really speaks to our generation and where we are in our lives. So so cute and great!
-That next day, I was supposed to be able to go to my sweet wonderful friend Whitney Walker's wedding. But due to a bad case of sciatica that week I had to decline, knowing I could not drive 12 hours in one day. :( But hubby felt bad for me, and decided to make it up to me and spend a day with me and put off his work and homework for the next day. We had a grand day full of farmers market finds and fun, a coupon for a great pizza place for lunch, a graaaand nap and yummy dinner and relaxing evening with each other.
28 WEEKS PREGGERS-HEEEELLLLOOOOOO THIRD TRIMESTER!!!!! Your discomfort started right on time! haha! But looooving how much I am feeling her these days!
-That Tuesday, I went to my first La Leche League meeting. It was extremely educational and I walked away feeling more aware of what problems could arise when she gets here with breast feeding. There was some quite interesting things that happened, but overall was a good experience.
-That Thursday I went over to my dear dear friend Laura's apt for some good "us" hang out time. A pan of brownies, tons of bathroom breaks Six hours later we realized that somehow we had just talked almost the whole day away. Something we are realizing that we find really easy to do together. It was a wonderful time with my lovely friend, and I am so glad she is my friend.
-That Friday I was invited by new kindred spirit friend Jessica Scaletta over for dinner with her little family and then to a clothing swap!!! It was the farthest I have driven in our manual, and I was quite proud of myself. :) We had a yummy dinner, got a great lesson on cloth diapers, and of course great conversation and fellowship with her, her hubby, and her little guy Baby Judah (her other little one Maddie, was at her grandma's) Then we were off to the exchange, and it was AWESOME! Never had been to one, and it is GENIUS!
Bring as much as clothes/accessories as you like that you don't want and take away as much clothes/accessories as you like!! Big score for a growing mama that needed some larger sized sweaters for this fall/winter! Plus, I got two pair of sweat pants that are sooooo comfortable. You must know that I am NOT a pajama/sweatpants kind of girl, not one to leave the house with out being all ready and appropriately dressed. But these sweat pants, oh man, I am being tempted. haha!!
-Then, the next day. It was the big day that all my prayer warriors were building up for, The Horn/Brown Wedding!!!! Thanks to all my warriors, it went great and it was a beautiful beautiful day with wonderful and fun people!!! Enjoying going through and editing the photos already! So again, all those who were praying for me.....THANK YOU! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
Busy busy week!
-Tuesday, Laura and I had decided the previous week that we were going to have a girls day in Chicago! After many obstacles of making arrangements, it eventually worked out for us along with Miss Sara to take the bus with the Art Department there for only $13.50!
We of course, had a swell swell time and made our friendship stronger by getting lost for about 2 hours. Haha! Thank you to our amazing understanding hubbies that let us have this day of fun in the city that we would have normally not been able to do!!!!!! You two are the best!!!!
-Wednesday, one of my older brothers came up to visit us for a few days! We had never had the chance to have him visit us since we have been married, and it was a great few days well spent including yummy food, great naps, a Von's Bookstore splurge, Greyhouse Coffee of course (which he had never had before, and veeery much liked. I tried the new Blueberry Cinnamon Latte (decaf of course) and it was perfect), grand movies, apple picking and applesauce making, and of course splendid conversation. Glad we got the visit in before our little lady gets here! :)!
-Theeeeen, on Friday we headed home to Mitchell on a great evening to drive and arrived at my parents home in time to visit with family and play with Miss Vivien before her bath. We then headed to Landon's parents where we stayed and got our first shower present from them, and they are adooooorable little winter white knitted and crochet coats for 0-3 and 3-6!!! I LOVE them!
-The following day, it was finally here....Our Mitchell Shower!!!!
What a blessed event and gathering it was. So humbling to hubby and I to see how loved we are and how blessed we are to have these people in our life to help us through this big new adventure of parenthood. It was hosted by Landon's mama's friends, who never cease to amaze me with their hospitality and care for Landon and I (they also through us a blessing dinner when we were engaged). Not to mention that they went in and got us our high chair! It was a great time, and we got looooots of fun goodies!! Big shout out for most amazing friend award to my beloved and always most cherished friend Emily Murphy for getting us our car seat!! All by herself! She is crazy, and I love her. And I am so glad that we get to bring her home from the hospital now. haha!

Between the two of these, I probably had spent a full day of hours of browsing and reading reviews. They are my favorite, and I could not be more happy with my choices!:)!!!
Evenflo Symphony 65 with Surelatch All In One Seat, North Bay

Afterwards, we headed back to my house for a bit while my whole family (except my brother-in-law Jon) were all still in town for some rest and catching up before we heading out to Spring Mill for Landon's grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary get together and celebration. The get together was a cherished time had by all, with much appreciation and reflection of the couple and what they mean to all of us and what they have taught us. Even though I have not been around since the beginning, they already have made an imprint on me that will last for generations to come in our own family.
-Sunday, we headed to my parents for breakfast because it was a busy morning at the Young's with everyone leaving at different times so we headed to my house where we got there just in time to still see Miss V in her pj's and with jelly sticky on her face...sigh, just love her. We then headed to church where we proceeded to get more gifts again from people I do not really know, but care for us so much. So amazing. Back to my parents for a greeeat time with my family, mostly adoring Vivie and all her new big girl activities and new interests (she decided after 19 months of hating hats that it was time to give them another try, and looooved them! Kept going to the mirror looking at herself and laughing, sometimes expressing "wooooow" after a good look at herself and the would proceed to walk over and show us all! It was so perfectly adorable, and I will always remember it!) Then back to Landon's for some family time with his parents, and I proceeded to take a mooonster pass out nap that I think might have been the best I have ever had. And woke up to eat yummy soup and pack-up to be on our way. We left later than normal because we decided to stop in Indy and stay the night with my brother and sister-in-law Devon and Carly. They always have an open hand for hosting at anytime, and we mostly take them up on it because we love their company and their lovely home.
So then, here we are!!!!
Today, we woke up early and had ourselves a yummy donut, and hubby had of course a good black cup of coffee (sigh, I could of really used it this morning) and off we went! Not forgetting to get the adorable yellow dresser with white porcelain knobs that they have and had offered to us back in the day, but at the time we didn't have room or use for it. But once I started our nursery, I knew it would be juuuust perfect! So now, it is perfectly placed in our baby girl's nursery awaiting all her new wonderfully small and dainty clothes. :)
We got back with hubby needing to be at a meeting in a half hour, so we rushed and got him clean and professionally dressed and ready to go in fifteen minutes. With all the going of the morning I had to get some things done around the apt, but that only lasted about 15 minutes and then I was ready for a nap. So I snuggled into bed, with Regina Spektor's album FAR playing and
with my new pregnancy body pillow (it's amazing!!!!! Haven't been so comfortable in weeks if not months! Thank you Megan Pemberton!) And have spent the rest of the cool fall day pittering around the apt, and reflecting on the eventful weekend and how blessed we are and how excited and in awe that we are officially in our "thirties" of our pregnancy. Read today that she is now aprox 3 lbs and her eyes are becoming more and more developed. I can NOT wait to see this little girl!!!! We both are dying to know what she is going to look like!!!!!
It is such an incredibly exciting time, and we are getting more and more ready to hold her and get to know her better.
Off I go now to finally start really settling and preparing our lady bear's room....

Thanks for keeping up and possibly reading all what has been going on!

Well then, where to begin...

Well, since the last time I wrote so many wonderful things and events have taken course.
We left with hubby's family for a week long vacation on an island about 30 minutes away from Charleston, South Carolina called Kaiwah. Even through the 15 hour drive and the intense heat and humidity it was a lovely spent week relaxing and for my mama self to reflect on my life and our little girl and how our lives will never be the same after December was much needed and appreciated. It was a great trip to spend with family and realizing how grateful and blessed I am to have such wonderful in-laws.

Hubby and I in Charleston, outside the Inn where we stayed on our honeymoon :)!

Hubby with his lovely younger sisters

Hubby's wonderful and loving parents

On our return from our trip, it was a tizzy whirlwind of a week!
We started out with a wonderful short trip at my parents for the evening and overnight. Sigh, so nice to be home and in the loving care of your parents that love you dearly and cherish your mate almost as much as you do.
We had a great time, and a most cherished time with my mama thinking about being a mama now in training...
I was extra sleepy and hungry on our vacation. Hmmm... growing little girl maybe? :)
Well, on the evening we returned she must have been happy to be home.
Our little sweetie started groovin and a kickin like she never had before! Goodness. I had to yell Landon into the room after I laid down to have him see this punch boxing scene between our lady bear and my tummy. Wow! Landon couldn't believe it! There she was for both of us to see! Kicking so hard we could see her popping out of my belly all over!
So remarkable. It has been a week and as of now I am still so excited to feel every big presence of her. Day and Night. Maybe in the future it will be annoying like everyone says it will be, but for now I am grateful for the evidence of knowing she is in there and having a good time, and the reassurance that I am taking care of her. :)

I am so grateful to our giving Father that has blessed us with this active little girl who has already captured Landon and I's waking and sleeping thoughts and prayers.
She has all our love and we can't wait to get to know her more...

more thoughts and ramblings about the joyful, blissful, and busyful weekend of Baby Shower and trip to Moline with the silly parentals soon to be posted...

I am loved...yesterday pt.2

Hubby arrived home shortly. I had planned on making dinner, but due to the heat I didn't see it happening. But thankfully, saved by this mornings chaos, had plenty of chicken left and one piece of bruschetta left for hubby and some chicken left for me to make a quick chicken parm sandwich. YES! Perfect!!!
But as the night drew on, with all its horrible heat misery. I could not get comfortable doing anything or the thought of doing anything. I finally just gave into it. Poor hubby. I had a much over due melt down about my not fitting clothing situation. You can plan so ahead of time with buying big dresses and flowy shirts that allow belly room. But their is no way to estimate your bust line tripling in cup size. So I found myself lately extremely frusterated with not being able to modestly wear much of my clothes. I couldn't just "throw" something on like I could before. I took so much planning, and usually more layers than this overheated mama could handle.
Among this melt down, it started to storm and pour.
Thank you thank you thank God!!!!!
I immediately started to feel a bit more relaxed being able to actually breathe outdoor air without feeling like I was going to suffocate!
Also, good hubby saw where I was coming from and sat down with me and asked me what I needed to feel comfortable. We talked about it for awhile, and concluded after prices and what not to be expected that it was a necessity to go on a maternity shopping trip. And not be second hand.
I then exclaimed to hubby my overworrying fretting about the budget self, "But where in the budget is it going to come out of?!" Hubby replied, "If you need it, you need it. We will make it work." Sigh, good hubby, Gooooood hubby. Just what I needed to hear.
After awhile, I realized that the only time we had free to shop was right then. So, we quickly got ourselves together and headed to the mall. A place we never really go.
We only had a hour before they closed, but we thought we would try.
We got almost all green lights on the way! A trip that would normally take about 25 min because of traffic, took 10!!! A total God thing.
So we went in, and walked directly to Motherhood Maternity.
Wow, talk about a world that I want to live in. I didn't even feel like I was in the mall anymore!!! (which is a good thing, I honestly loath the mall)
The worker there gave me all her attention and helped so much for me understand what sizes I needed. And wonderful wonderful hubby looked around and told me what would be cute on me, and what things he thought I would want. He even carried around my purse so I could shop to my fullest. He let me grab whatever I wanted, I was only trying on. :)
We had previously decided that I needed to buy t-shirts that were comfortable for summer but also fall friendly in color to minimize more trips later. As well as a pair of light pants and of course BRAS!!!!
We grabbed tons of options from all the different sales racks, and were put into the VIP dressing room because of how much we grabbed. Landon loved the special room, has a bench with a cushion and everything. He was set!
So on and off I went! Quickly too! Ten minutes left! Even though the saleswoman had made it clear not to rush, and that she was still going to be there for awhile. But I know it is rude to stay late. Plus, I don't really like dilly dallying in dressing rooms. You know you like or not. Period. Not a big fan of seeing myself if those oh so flattering mirrors for too long. haha.
But hubby, sweet sweet hubby. Not matter how big and huge I feel he relentlessly tells me I am beautiful and absolutely adorable. He looooovvvvves me being pregnant!
So we decided on our purchases, three lovely belly and bust frienly shirts, one pair of linen pants, and FOUR bras! All for a super great price!
I was beaming, and I think Landon was beaming even more. He knows when he has done something good for me that I need, and my happiness magnifies his happiness. On the way home, we marveled at the post storm sky and enjoyed the actual cool breeze coming in the car.
We had decided we both were a bit hungry, but didn't know what we wanted.
We got close to home, and I looked at him and said, "House Special Lomein." He then slowly turned to me and said, "oooh yeah." We had it left in the budget for the week. We share it usually because they stuff so much even in a small one, that it feels like such a treat but is so incredibly cheap.
So we got our Lomein, hurried home, took a quick shower, got ourselves cozy in our oasis room, and put in of course Ice World from the Planet Earth series (our favorite series ever). It had such a great way of cooling us down!

It was an absolutely great ending to an emotionally and mentally exhausting day....

Thank you God for husbands, and their compassion to make their wives comfortable and content when they really need it.

Dear Friend...yesterday pt 1

Well, as you all know this summer has been record breaking high in heat and humidity. So you can imagine for a first time pregnancy how hot it is for myself. I keep thinking that there is no way that being pregnant can be THIS much hotter. But by many peoples opinion, they have said it has been miserable for them as well. SHEW! I was beginning to worry that my poor baby girl might be cooking a little too high in there with hot I feel lately.
So I have been doing my best at staying cool, collected, and hydrated this summer.
Sadly that has meant not too much time outside. During the day too hot, during the night I get eaten alive by mosquitoes. Every time I tell myself its worth a nice walk at night, I wake up itching and scratching uncontrollably not being able to fall back asleep. So I have told myself sadly, not worth it. So much of this summer has been indoors sadly. But that gives time for much nesting and time with dear friends!
Yesterday, my day started off a bit rocky. I currently have been sleeping on a twin mattress on the floor by our bed. Let's Landon and I both sleep better. I wake up too often in our bed sleeping on my back, and that is a no no for baby. So when I am on the floor I am not as accustom to sprawling out and more likely to be snuggled onto one side like a good mama should be. But yesterday night I still did not sleep well. I miss my hubby. :( AND I am having to adjust to more potty breaks during the night as well.
So after a rough night sleep I just couldn't get my day going quite right. Got up two different times and ended up going back to bed. Second time due to a horrible headaches, that I get everyday but this one felt extra overwhelming due to the sleepy hot self. So I stayed in my one air conditioned room as long as I could....
But I had my dear friend Laura coming over for lunch for our weekly catch up and spoof off day. She wasn't coming till twelve, so I didn't even bother to set an alarm. Surely I would get up before eleven...WRONG! Laura texted me asking if I would want her to bring some bruschetta for lunch along with whatever I was making. In the middle of my waking up fuzziness I said of course! When can you ever turn down bruschetta! But then realizing how late it was, I jumped up in a panic and immediate stress level! I ran around half getting ready, half cleaning, and half preparing lunch. I felt like a mad woman! haha! Also, hubby had a friend over the previous night and they made a big feast. But their dishes was not on their after dinner agenda. Which I thought he would do before left on this morning. Wrongo. Also, they used some of the ingredients that I was planning for the lunch I was going to prepare.
So I was scrubbing big pans, looking up a good Italian recipe for chicken because I had some thawed, made homemade lemonade (dear friend's favorite), and getting dressed/slash putting on make-up with knowing my dear friend would be here in a half hour....yes, madness I tell you.
I conjured up a recipe for a great looking all homemade chicken parmigiana, I didn't have quite everything but it would work. When I cook when I am frazzled I am known for making much bigger messes that I normally would make, so that wasn't helping the current stress tension arising.
But onward I went...
By the time she got here, I somehow had picked up the apt, I was dressed(semi, haha) with minimal make-up and hair primping, and was almost finished with the chicken.
So all of this to say, my friend Laura is the most refreshing friend to have around. I feel as if other pregnant mama's that don't have their family close should hire her. A woman of two other sisters in her family, she understands what woman need. She is just wonderful.
As soon as she walks in and see's my distress she starts cleaning up the dishes that I had previously dirtied up while making the chicken. Cleaning the lettuce, that I had to ask her to bring because the last of mine got used the night before unknown to me. And pre-heating the oven for the bruschetta that she brought. As a woman who has been married for a bit now, for someone to come in and just know what to do without being asked is a treasure beyond all measure. To just do it.
So it all finished up, and I do have to say it all was incredibly delicious!!! I would have taken a picture, but i was too dang hot and hungry to mess with it!
Lunch was followed by me asking if it was ok if I actually took some time to finish getting ready. She being the lovely friend she is, did of course not mind. Not only that, but sat by and talked with me and allowed me to feel as if there was no hurry at all and just chatted with me. Sigh, so wonderful. So after I was ready, with full primp in gear with the appropriate time given for it. We headed out on the town for our usual day of spoofing.
It is always asked right away from Miss Laura, "So, where do you want to go today?!" Another refreshing boost. No matter where in mind she has, she always asks me first to get an idea of where we both want to go. So nice. :) AND she always drives. Her car has wonderful AC, and she knows of my fear of driving our manual under pressure. So she doesn't even ask which one will drive, she just shows up. :)
We went to the post office, Berry's Camera Shop (she is looking for a camera, and I am trying to help her find the best one for her needs), and then off to 1st Class Clutter. Which is my absolute favorite antique store downtown. The woman that owns the shop I call my Lafayette mom. I go in there and we just chat and chat. She is in fact friends with my real mama now, ever since they met it was an immediate kindred spirits. And now she currently sells my mama's bag's in her shop (to check out mama's collection of bags see, So going in there is always a treat. I found exactly what I was looking for exactly how much I wanted to spend (which was not the marked prices, but what can I say. She is my Lafayette mom. She makes sure I am happy when I walk out of there). I got several cute little hankies and doilies that I am going to sew onto a gingham curtain that my mom is giving me to put against one of the walls in baby girl's nursery. It is going to be our sensory wall. All different types of colors, textures, and shapes to intrigue all her curious senses. I also FINALLY found a lamp! I have been digging digging digging for a simple little lamp to put by my nursing chair in the nursery. I even already had a cute shade! But I and the hubby are stubborn, and did not want to spend much on it considering God has provided everything else we wanted for the nursery for barely anything. So there it was, simple little lamp base. She gave it to me for a $1. Hallelujah!
Another great thing about dear friend is that she also comes from a marriage where budget is important. Not only for the sake of being smart with your money, but respecting your hubby's wishes and to make him happy. So going shopping is a complete understanding of logic, need, and want. And finding the balance of all three, and of course...following the budget.
So our next stop at Joannes was an obstacle. I WANTED to walk away with material to make my moby wrap, but after much thinking and dilliberation with dear friend. She convinced to wait, wait for a better coupon, wait closer till the baby is here, and wait to find someone that could use the remaining unneeded material for another wrap to save money. This whole experience I think would have been very stressful and disappointing, but with dear friend their, it somehow turned out to be a fun and lovely experience.
I did in fact get some beautiful blank cards for thank you cards for the Lafayette Baby Shower coming up because a lady heard me say I forgot my coupons and gave me one of hers! Oh, the kindness of strangers. Especially to an overwhelmed expecting mama.
So we headed back to my apt, feeling good about what he had found out and purchased and looked forward to going home and researching the wisest way to go about purchasing our big desired purchases.
As she left, I had a heat melt down and slunk away to our oasis bedroom to try to cool off and read my Pregnancy Book by William and Martha Sears. I just sat back and relaxed at my day well spent with my dear friend awaiting the next time and what we possibly might do.
I know I will be asked :)....

My oh my, my cup runneth over...

Last Wednesday, July 28, 2010, hubby and I had our first ultrasound and St. Elizabeth East Hospital, and we found out (to my surprise!) that we are having a BABY GIRL!!!!!

Wow, all the thoughts and emotions that have been going through my head in the past week has been so incredibly emotional and overwhelming.

A girl.

Wow. I am still in shock.

As soon as that screen popped up I immediately had hot tears streaming down my face, and continued that way the entire time. I could not believe that we were looking at our future child. It's completely breathtaking. Thinking of all the future memories that we will hopefully have with this child while looking at her still inside me blew my mind. There she was, moving and grooving around in there. Completely humbling to think that our Lord thinks we are ready for this and trusts us with this beautiful precious life...

After we found out and we were left a lone in the room for a moment (after I of course ran off to the bathroom, I had to go SOOO bad! Almost wet my drawers a few times! haha!) Landon looked at me and told me that he had secretly wanted a little girl for awhile. That stinker never let on! But I did have a feeling that's how he felt. I think we both wanted a little one of each other. To be honest, I am quite intimated with the idea of another me in my life. I can barely put up with myself most of the time! haha! But hopefully this little girl will also take after her daddy as much as I, which is the best part of myself anyway. To think that physically and emotionally this little girl will make up both parts of myself and the love of my life, makes me unfathomably already love this little lady more than I could imagine...

So in the past week I have cried at the look from someone I care about asking how the baby is, picturing our sweet little girl and my wonderful niece Vivien playing together (a little me and a little dear sister Rhiannon, but only 21 months apart instead of 9 years), the touch of little onesies in a store, hearing my husband saying the possible names of our little baby girl, a friend bringing me flowers on my last day of work, having a half hour long talk with our baby while we walk in the rain, talking to someone at church about our everyday life and God's blessings and timing...

The joys of being a new mama, my cup runneth completely over...

So this is just going to be some photos and ramblings about some yummy food I have had and made this past week with my hubby.
I started this post last week and got busy, Mamas Collection of Friends this past weekend!!!! Wonderful wonderful time!!!! Blog about that soon to be posted!

Back to food, haha...what can I say, I am pregnant. I enjoy food A LOT normally, so now being with child it is making me enjoy it all the more! we go...
fresh salsa(before being blended), made completely from our garden
Our favorite Young Family recipe

Accompanied with our favorite black bean soup!
Hubby and I's motto for our cooking is usually what is Easy and Best,
who wouldn't want both of these!

The opening of our canned pickles! Anxiously we waited a week,
we almost gave in several times. But we made it!!!....

Hubby being dramatic

Hubby was kind enough to give me the first bite
And my ohhhhhh MY, were they tastey!

Mmmmm....grilled free range burgers with melted colby jack cheese, condiments from the garden, whole wheat buns, cucumber-tomato-onion-basil-vinegar salad all from the garden, and of course Wavy Lays chips. Because they are my favorite. :)
Accompanied, but not photographed, with homemade lemonade.

What's the best way to finish off a perfect summer picnic meal???
My favorite dessert of vanilla frozen yogurt, fresh cut strawberries, and dark chocolate syrup.
Oooooh yeah....absolutely delicious.

Woke-up knowing for some reason that I had to have enchiladas,
or I might just die.

How is that for a dramatic craving? haha!
So, here they are...Cheese and refried bean enchiladas, in whole wheat tortillas, with garden tomatoes, onions, and cilantro sauteed and then baked with wonderful cheese, topped with organic sour cream.

This was lunch, for dinner we had our weekly concert in the park bananza with Hot Box pizza, left over cucumber tomato-onion-salad, and of course cookies-n-cream ice cream as posted previously. Yeah, not the healthiest food all in one day, but what can I say. I am pregnant and mama like cheese and tomatoes A LOT. haha...

Sigh, yummy yummy week of food.

Left on Thursday for THE Retreat, where plenty and plenty more yummy food was made and on all that wonderfulness will soon to be posted. :)

Ohhhh boy.....or girl. :)!

Today was my monthly check in with the nurse practitioner. Auntie Lauren was in town, so she got to go with me. :)
All is well with baby bear and mama bear. Gaining the appropriate amount of weight. Blood pressure 118/62. And babies heartbeat was 148 beats/min. :-D Happy happy mama...
But the most new information of them all, was scheduling the appointment for our one and only ultrasound...A WEEK FROM TODAY!!!!! Next Wednesday the 28, we will finally get to see our sweet baby. :)!!!! Annnnnd find out if it is a boy or a girl! EEEEEEPPPPP!!!! I can barely stand it. :)

Until then, I will still daydream of the possibilities of either one anticipating being able to identify and know this baby one big step more....

P.s. Isn't the break from the miserable humid heat to just normal good ole summer heat amazing? I am actually feeling a cool breeze through the apt as we speek! :)!!!!
again, happy happy mama
